According to a report released by UEFA on Thursday, the coronavirus pandemic has cost European football 7 billion euros in the past two years.European football lost 4 billion euros in 2019-20 and 3 billion euros in 2020-21.Because of empty games, 4.4 billion euros was lost in ticket revenue, 1.7 billion euros in commercial sponsorship and 900 million euros in television rights revenue.The 711 clubs involved in the top leagues in each European country earned 88 per cent less in 2021 than in 2019 due to empty stadiums.There was also a 40 per cent drop in spending over the three transfer Windows of summer 2020, winter 2021 and summer 2021.(Paul)
